Who Makes Your All Time Worst TV Commercials List? Why Must We Suffer?

These two commercials make (made) me want to cover my ears and gouge my eyes out!  I know, I know, they do stupid commercials because people like me will talk about it.  Any publicity is good publicity they say.  I say they are crazy and I don’t care how flame broiled or low priced they are.

1  Burger King (flute guy)

2  Staples..I think…(Wow!  That’s a low price!)

What are your all time worst t.v. commercials?  🙂

Rythym That Produces Results

I am probably worse than anyone on the planet at staying focused and on task because I am a people person. If I hear a person talking anywhere in the building, restaurant, park bench, etc., my ears seem to automatically tune them in. This helps me many times to stay informed or get to know people very quickly, but it is a curse when work needs to be done.

I find that when I am able to work in an uninterrupted, flowing pattern, work seems to get knocked out. Also, If the time spent flowing between my priorities are distinguishable and planned I feel fulfilled and important work gets done…not just the (knock, knock, knock) urgent.

When I need to get into a rhythm I do the following…

Shut the door   (At the risk of being misunderstood)
Study the Bible
Review & plan the calendar for the month, week, current day, following day
Time block around priorities to accomplish
Execute the schedule

I do my best to direct the song of the day and not let the tapping of the urgent thought or conversation control me.

What do you do to get into a rhythm and have a productive work day?

Message to the House Republican Majority

Tonight the Republican Party officially took control of the House of Representatives. So what if you are the ones in control? If you can’t lead with integrity we will just spin in a circle and history will repeat itself. I, for one, am sick of seeing the same old stories of dishonesty and self gain spin around to meet me on this merry go round. Get it right this time or we will get someone in your place who will. Quit lying, cheating, compromising, and promising a better future for me and my family if you won’t deliver. Just tell the truth and lead with integrity. I know you can’t fix things over night but you can govern with integrity. I voted for you and I expect integrity!

Can You Go Farther?

My wife and I had the chance to hike in the Rocky Mountain National Forest the past two days.  As we pressed through the thin air of higher elevation it was exhilarating to meet goals that we had set our sights on and higher.  It was also a little disappointing that we couldn’t climb higher because of the lack of energy or time before sunset.  A couple of lessons learned was to start earlier in the day and stay energized with a little food periodically while hiking.

What are some ways that you have been able to go higher in your life as a leader than you anticipated?

How have you dealt with disappointment from goals not met?
